So, campers should arrive on Thursday. On Friday, the group will car pool to Greenville/KitchenAid, and leave the CG around 9:15 am. Members who have not been to a couple of close RV Dealers in Ohio and Indiana can do that as a Friday or Saturday activity. It is about 30 minutes from the campground. They also have RV parts. Saturday night dinner will be a pitch-in with a Mexican theme.
Please make your own reservations online at www.naturalspringsresort.com or by phone at 888-330-5771 or 937-437-5771. GREAT LAKERS CHAPTER - OHIO RIVER VALLEY CHAPTER
INDIANA DUNES, CHESTERTON, IN, AUGUST 19, 20, 21
Join our two chapters for a wonderful rally experience. Indiana Dunes State
Park offers Lake Michigan beaches and great hiking and nature trails. Nearby
Michigan City has lots of recreation and entertainment options. The annual Lake
Front Art Festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday. There will be bike riding
on scenic paved trails along Lake Michigan. Other group activities will depend
on the interests of those attending and could include golf at one of several local
courses, shopping for bargains at Lighthouse Outlet Mall, an evening at Blue
Chip Casino, or visiting local museums and other attractions. Friday dinner will
be at a local restaurant and Saturday will be a pot luck.
Campsites are $25.50 per night and can accommodate rigs up to 45 feet. All
have 50-amp electric service, but do not have on-site water or sewer. A dump
station as well as hydrants for filling fresh water tanks are conveniently located
in the campground. A gate fee of $5.00 for Indiana residents and $10 for non-
residents is good for your entire stay. We will try to group our sites together at
the east end of the east loop, site numbers in the ranges of #121–130 or #90–
99.
It is extremely important that you reserve your site early, as this is a very popular
state park, and summer weekends fill up very quickly. Reservations should be
made directly with the park at www.camp.in.gov or by calling (866) 622-6746.
They begin taking reservations six months in advance ( i.e. beginning February
19.) If you reserve now and later find you cannot attend, you may cancel the
reservation for a $10.00 fee.
After you have reserved your campsite, please also RSVP to rally hosts Carole
Goodwin and Renee DeMar at (708) 285-5244 or (708) 373-5607, or email
September 22-25
West Boggs Park, Loogootee, IN
West Boggs Park has been so popular for our chapter members the last two years; we decided to stay here again. We will be camping in the Red Fox Campground which is located on a point surrounded by West Boggs Lake. The park adjoins the West Boggs Golf Course. Blue Springs Caverns, French Lick Casino and Spring Mill State Park are all nearby. However, you would not necessarily ever have to leave the campground to have a great time. West Boggs Park has a swimming beach, boat launch, fishing of course, and hiking/biking trails. Bring your kayaks and canoes for a paddle around the lake.
This rally will be our pre-convention rally where we will meet as small groups throughout the weekend to finalize items for the National Convention in Goshen. We will have a pitch-in on Friday evening and go out to eat on Saturday evening. We will also have some type of FUN-raising event as well. Of course campfires and smores are an ORV tradition.
Campsites are $33/night for water/electric hookups. Most campsites are 30-amp, but a few are 50-amp. A dump station is nearby. Pets are welcome if kept on a leash. Reservations require full payment and credit cards are accepted. Call 812-295-3421 to reserve a spot in Red Fox campground. Do not register online, as they cannot guarantee that your campsite will be located with the group. As those who signed up last year know, after the Red Fox sites are gone, the only sites available are up the hill with no possibility of getting your rig level.
There will be a $10 rally fee per person.
Your rally hosts are Shelly Haley, Kathy Isenhour, Terry Miller & Connie Alt. Please also RSVP at k.isenhour@comcast.net when you make your reservation.
