The newly formed Ohio River Valley chapter enjoyed our first get-together in northern Indiana with a themed Circus weekend in northern Indiana. The chapter philosophy is to make everyone feel welcome, have a great time, and enjoy the company of women who enjoy the outdoors and we succeeded on this beautiful summer weekend!
Nearly 20 women in 12 rigs with too few names came together. We had two Carols, two Judys, two Nancys, and two Tammys! The Tall Sycamore Campground owner (and gourmet chef) cooked ribs for us Saturday night to go with our traditional pot luck dinner.
Activities for the weekend included a triop to a restored Dentzel Carousel and a mini train ride through the park. Saturday we traveled to the Circus Hall of Fame outside Peru, IN and took a private tour and Big Top performance. Once back at the campground, we ran a pet clown parade and everyone was a winner!
Our fine women selected our new chapter logo and suggested events for next year which will tentatively include Mammoth Cave, quaint Nashville, IN, the Balloon Festival in Louisville (just prior to the Ky Derby), Bob Evans Farm in eastern Ohio, a joint get-together with Great Lakes and covered bridges in western IN.
